Sajek Valley sits 1,800 feet above sea level in Rangamati, and getting there is half the adventure. Here are the ten things every first-timer should know.
1. You must travel with the army escort
Private vehicles enter Sajek only in escorted convoys from Khagrachari, at roughly 10:30 AM and 3:30 PM. Miss the convoy and you wait for the next one — plan your bus arrival accordingly.
2. Book resorts early for weekends
Sajek has limited rooms and holiday weekends sell out two to three weeks ahead. Thursday–Friday nights are the busiest.
3. Pack light, pack warm
Even in summer, nights get chilly above the clouds. A light jacket, power bank, torch and cash (no ATMs!) are essential.
4. The sunrise is at Konglak
Wake at 4:45 AM and trek 20 minutes to Konglak Para — the cloud sea at dawn is the single best moment of the trip.
